Who is Velma Mack?
Who am I?
Well, let’s see… I am an enigma—complex in every way.
I am a woman filled with raw emotion, passion, zeal, and straightforwardness.
Often, I’m misunderstood—and I’m okay with that.
One of my favorite quotes is by Frederick Douglass:
“I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.”
This is a quote I live and breathe.
I am on a journey, forever evolving.
Life has taught me many lessons, both good and bad.
These lessons have proven that experiences shape our lives, planting seeds of difficulty and strength.
Some have rooted in error; others have birthed truth, resilience, and an unwavering determination to survive.
In each lesson, I’m learning to unlearn what’s been detrimental,
and to cultivate what’s become my teacher.
The journey of evolving is not always comfortable,
But it is freeing.
And so, I decided to blog.
Because my thoughts are full, and they need a place to land.
As you follow me along this journey, you’ll read poetry & life experience blog posts.
Whatever I write, I hope you choose to walk with me through this journey of life, experience, and growth.
Be sure to subscribe to my blog and stay connected.
